‘All sorrows are less with bread’ … damn right with this recipe. It is so easy, one bowl and no kneading and rising.
This recipe was given to me by one of my favourite Country Houses in the Klein Karoo. My family and friends love it so I make it often. I make half the recipe which make 2 loaves. By the way, these loaves freeze exceptionally well and when defrosted I pop into the oven to crisp up again.
6 cups Nutty Wheat
1 ½ cups Treacle Sugar
4 Teasp Bicarb
1 ½ cup Oil
5 ml Salt
1 Litre Plain or Fruit yoghurt
Selection of seeds, nuts and raisins
Mix all ingredients together in a big bowl. Then add seeds and nuts and mix again well.
Top load with additional seeds. Bake for 1 hour at 160 – 170C
Happy baking.
